Vivian’s career includes over 30 years of both in-house and Big Law experience which makes her extraordinarily knowledgeable and uniquely qualified to develop innovative approaches in rapidly evolving areas. There are very few other lawyers who have witnessed the technology evolution from within some of the world’s most powerful financial institutions. Vivian started her career in-house at Salomon Brothers, which became Citigroup and rose through the ranks to become Division General Counsel and Managing Director for multi-billion dollar lines of business. She learned how to do transactions from Warren Buffett’s legal team at Salomon Brothers. After Citi, she joined the New York Stock Exchange. Vivian was responsible for all legal issues related to US Cash Trading and Market Data at the NYSE and worked with the Specialist Community and the SEC and gained approval for a new market model for the NYSE at the time Regulation National Market Structure was implemented. She was also the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to BIDS Trading, LP, an electronic equities trading venue that matches buy-side and sell-side interests.
Vivian’s transactional work has been consistently exceptional. She leads groundbreaking transactions for her client base of Tier 1 banks, investment managers and emerging companies that highlight her innovative and impactful achievements for her clients in one of the most influential sectors in the global economy.
Vivian’s industry experience is exemplified by her work with Thesys Technologies on the implementation of the SEC mandated Consolidated Audit Trail. Vivian is also an advisor to 8VC, 18 Somerset Capital Management, and a member of The Board of Directors of Hope for a Healthier Humanity.
